Meet David Pritchard: Introducing Chick-fil-A to his hometown

August 20, 2026

Born and raised in Liverpool,
Owner-Operator David Pritchard is opening Chick-fil-A Lord Street with a vision to serve, support and celebrate his city.

The arrival of Chick-fil-A on Lord Street represents a significant milestone for David Pritchard, but his plans extend far beyond the city centre. A Liverpool native from Aigburth, David is dedicated to using his restaurant to help invest in local talent and give back to the community that shaped him, hoping to make Chick-fil-A a cornerstone of the city’s vibrant spirit.

“I’ve always admired the energy and heart of Liverpool,” says David. “It’s a city that truly values coming together over a great meal. My hope is that Chick-fil-A can simply add to the wonderful food scene that already exists here and become a small part of the community’s daily life.”

Bringing extensive hospitality and leadership experience to his restaurant, David has developed high-performing teams, led operations and supported the growth of some of the UK’s best-known brands throughout his career.

Serving the city that raised him
Nearly 15 years ago, while on holiday in Florida with his family, David had his first taste of Chick-fil-A – and witnessed the brand’s signature hospitality firsthand. The care and attention he received during just one visit sparked a curiosity in Chick-fil-A that stuck with him throughout his career. Today, he’s proud to bring that same high-quality food, care and people-first culture to the city he loves.

“Chick-fil-A has always been more than just a restaurant to me – it’s a culture of service that I’ve carried with me for years,” David says. “I feel incredibly fortunate to finally bring that experience to the city I love. It’s about more than just serving great food; it’s about sharing a piece of what inspired me and giving back to the community that raised me.”

Guests will be able to enjoy classic Chick-fil-A items such as the Original Chick-fil-A® Chicken Sandwich and nuggets, featuring real, whole boneless breast of chicken, hand-breaded throughout the day alongside freshly prepared salads and grilled chicken options.

Creating a people-first business
Chick-fil-A Owner-Operators are hands-on, small business owners who work side by side with their Team Members every day. They lead every part of the business, from developing their Team Members to spearheading community-driven projects designed to have a meaningful local impact.

For David, that people-first culture is at the very heart of what his restaurant represents. With plans to create more than 100 jobs, David sees the new restaurant as an investment in people as much as in the local area. After decades spent leading and growing teams, he’s passionate about helping individuals develop new skills and progress their careers.

A successful restaurant won’t only be measured by the number of Guests served – but for David, that success comes in the impact and the difference made in the lives of those working alongside him. “By investing in my Team Members, I believe the restaurant can create better experiences for Guests and build a stronger connection with the wider community – whether that’s serving great food or simply brightening someone’s day with a smile,” David explains.

A heart beyond the restaurant
With many communities across the country facing challenges of hunger and food insecurity, David believes local businesses have a meaningful role to play in bringing people together and offering practical support.

Together with his wife Jennifer, David is committed to building strong relationships with local charities and community organisations.

A key priority will be introducing the Chick-fil-A Shared Table® programme, which redirects surplus food to those in need through trusted local partners – ensuring good food can go further.

He is also passionate about exploring initiatives that support individuals experiencing loneliness, particularly during times of the year that can be especially difficult. By creating a welcoming environment, David hopes the restaurant will be more than just somewhere to eat – but somewhere people feel they belong.

It starts with a smile
At its heart, David hopes Chick-fil-A Lord Street will reflect the spirit of the city itself – warm, welcoming and full of character.

David is excited to bring the brand’s “people-first” philosophy to Liverpool. He describes the essence of Chick-fil-A as “the perfect balance of premium food and a level of hospitality that makes everyone feel welcome and cared for.”

Chick-fil-A Liverpool Lord Street opens on 27 August 2026.
