It starts with a smile

Chick-fil-A is known for creating a welcoming restaurant experience, starting with friendly service, a warm greeting, and quality food. Team Members strive to serve up memorable experiences for every guest, and we hope dining with us inspires you to share that same sense of warmth with others, too.

S. Truett Cathy, the founder of Chick-fil-A

Speaking of Sundays…

Our founder, S. Truett Cathy, made the decision to close on Sundays in 1946. He knew what it was like to work seven days a week in restaurants, so he saw the importance of giving his employees a day to rest, spend time with family and worship if they choose. We continue to honour that tradition today.

Corporate Purpose

To glorify God by being a faithful steward of all that is entrusted to us. To have a positive influence on all who come in contact with Chick-fil-A.

Investing in Local Ownership

Becoming a local Chick-fil-A® Owner-Operator offers the opportunity to build a business, shape a culture and invest in a better future. And we’ll support you every step of the way.

Owner-Operators help continue the legacy that began with our founder, S. Truett Cathy, to be a positive influence on the people and communities we serve. Owner-Operators live and work in their communities, each supporting local efforts to address hunger, strengthen education, and enrich the lives of those around them.

While it is an exceedingly rewarding opportunity, it does require a lot of hands-on work leading a large team of employees. It’s not for those seeking passive financial investment, working from the sidelines or adding to a portfolio of business ventures. It’s a hands-on, life investment for leaders looking to build a business and make a positive impact in their community.

Working at Chick‑fil‑A

We believe a strong and caring culture is essential to our success. The notion of care applies not only to our local Owner-Operators, Team Members and guests in Chick-fil-A Restaurants but also to how we treat each other at our corporate offices.

Caring is at the heart of Chick-fil-A culture. We are committed to a workplace culture where everyone is treated with honour, dignity and respect. “We are better together” – one of our core values – means that when we combine our unique backgrounds and experiences with a culture of belonging, we can strengthen the quality of care we deliver.

Commitment to quality

Chick-fil-A Restaurants offer top-quality food, served with exceptional hospitality. We believe in serving great food we can feel good about.

Chick-fil-A Restaurants will only serve chicken sourced from the UK, and we are Red Tractor assured, meaning the chicken we source meets high standards for food safety, hygiene, animal welfare, and environmental protection.

Striving to serve freshly prepared food while reducing food waste, we take a “cook less, more often” approach. By studying smart, lean manufacturing principles used in other industries, we’re working toward a menu that achieves these goals and enhances customer experience, while never sacrificing delicious taste.

Community Impact: Addressing local hunger

Through the Chick-fil-A Shared Tableprogramme, local Chick-fil-A Restaurants fight food insecurity in their neighbourhoods by donating surplus food to local soup kitchens, shelters and nonprofits to feed those in need. We are proud to partner with Neighbourly to help us deliver food to those who need it the most.

Additionally, every time a new Chick-fil-A Restaurant opens in a new area, Chick-fil-A, Inc. donates £25,000 to a local nonprofit to support local hunger relief efforts in that Restaurant’s community.

Innovative from the beginning

Innovation is a core part of Chick-fil-A history. We continue to look for new ways to surprise and delight, with digital enhancements and bold new Restaurant designs. We believe we can always find new and better ways to care for our guests.

A people business and a family business

Our founder, S. Truett Cathy, always maintained he was in the people business, prioritising customer service and dedication to his community. When travelling one day, he thanked the employee of a high-end hotel and the man responded, “My pleasure.” Struck by that response, Truett encouraged his employees to add that phrase to their daily interactions, something they continue to do to this day.

Chick-fil-A is still a family business, with Truett’s grandson, Andrew, serving as the CEO. The Cathy family has been working together for over 70 years. Today, several second and third generation Cathy family members carry on the company tradition.

Caring for Team Members

Chick-fil-A Restaurants aim to add a positive impact beyond profit, including giving back to local communities and advancing opportunities for others. By investing in Team Members through bursary programmes, leadership development, access to well-being benefits and more, Owner-Operators can know their Team Members are taken care of and will, in turn, take care of our guests.
