LIVERPOOL (26th August 2026) – Ahead of the new Chick-fil-A restaurant opening on Liverpool’s Lord Street Thursday, 27 August, the local restaurant announced a long-term partnership with local charity Opening Doors Project. As Chick-fil-A expands into Liverpool, this collaboration establishes a food donation programme designed to support the local community.
The partnership is powered by the Chick-fil-A Shared Table programme, an initiative that bridges the gap between surplus food and local need. Through the donation of surplus food, Chick-fil-A
Owner-Operators equip local nonprofits to serve meals to neighbours in need, directly impacting food insecurity within their communities. At the new Chick-fil-A Liverpool restaurant, Team Members will regularly prepare and package surplus food for the Opening Doors Project to distribute to those who need it most.
Chick-fil-A is commemorating opening of the Chick-fil-A restaurant on Lord Street with a £25,000 donation to the Opening Doors Project. The donation will help support the organisation’s mission to reduce food insecurity and loneliness, further assisting the wellbeing of the Liverpool community.

Opening Doors Project combines practical support with opportunities for social connection, wellbeing activities and family support. Through its Community Food Hub, the charity provides free meals in a welcoming environment, while its Mindful Hub offers a safe space where people can connect with others, access support and take part in activities designed to improve wellbeing and reduce social isolation.
